The Black Rooster Bakery

The past week was a busy one, spent checking out some of Tarrant County's best new bakeries for an upcoming feature for the Star-Telegram (look for it later this month). One bakery, in particular, has become close to my heart almost immediately, for its proximity to TCU (it's on the corner of Park Hill and Forest Park), its European-style breads, and the fact that it's a second career and dream-come-true for owner Marche Ann Mann, a retired realtor. I stopped into The Black Rooster Bakery around lunchtime, so I was lucky enough to snag a freshly made sandwich on house-baked baguette, stuffed with goat cheese, tapenade, and tomatoes. The bakery is also becoming known for its cinnamon rolls. IMG_3050
