The new (old) Aventino's is a return to the restaurant's substantial roots as an Italian family restaurant (a more ambitious rendition apparently never quite took). (Re)open since winter, it's a nicer space than the stripmall locale would seem, just north of Camp Bowie. The night we went service was slow but the food was deemed worth the wait: fettuccine Alfredo for the kids, a garlicky mushroom and tomato sauced pasta for the hubs, and a delectable crispy-edged eggplant parm for me. 20120728-165236.jpg
