Fancy soup

Last weekend's benefit for the Arts Council of Fort Worth, Toast of the Town, was held at the Worthington Renaissance downtown. With advance notice, of course, they did a beautiful job of delivering a vegetable ratatouille tart in place of the surf and turf. But everyone started with the same thing -- a steaming bowl of butternut squash soup baked with a cap of puff pastry. Simple but special-occasion, this is going in the ideas-to-borrow file this holiday season.
